Maddli: The mascot of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025

29.11.2024

May we introduce? Maddli. The cute dog is named after Madeleine Boll, Switzerland’s first licensed female footballer. She stands for pioneering spirit, teamwork and a passion for football – exactly what the European Football Championship 2025 in Basel is all about.

On November 29, around seven months before the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 kicks off in Switzerland (from July 2 to 27, 2025), the official tournament mascot Maddli made her first appearance. It surprised children and passengers at the train station in Geneva before traveling on to Zurich by train and presenting itself to the fans before the friendly match between Switzerland and Germany at the Letzigrund in Zurich. The mascot’s name is based on Madeleine Boll – the first female licensed player in Switzerland.

The particularly affectionate St. Bernards, originating from Switzerland, are known for their role as courageous search dogs, especially in complex rescue missions in the Alps. This rich heritage makes Maddli the perfect companion for the journey to unimagined heights, as the tournament motto «Summit of Emotions» promises.
