Basel is the main venue for the UEFA European Women’s Championship 2025. The opening match (2 July), two group stage matches (8 and 13 July), a quarter-final match (19 July) and the final (27 July) of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 will be played at the St. Jakob-Park stadium in Basel. Basel is located in the heart of Europe, in the border triangle of Switzerland, Germany and France, and is easily accessible from everywhere thanks to good transport connections.
Basel can be easily reached by train to Basel SBB station, Badischer Bahnhof or Basel SNCF station. High-speed trains run from Paris, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin and Milan to Basel.
The binational EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is only seven kilometres from the city centre and offers direct flights from most European cities.
From the airport, you can reach the city centre in 20 minutes with bus nummer 50The bus stop is located directly at the exit of the arrivals hall (level 2). The bus runs several times an hour to 00:30. The bus ticket can be online or at the TNW ticket machine at the bus stop (single ticket, 3 zones).

St. Jakob-Park (known as “Joggeli” in Basel) is the largest football stadium in Switzerland and one of the most beautiful in Europe. The Swiss national football team often plays international matches at St. Jakob-Park. The multifunctional stadium offers space for well over 30,000 visitors. This makes it an ideal venue for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.
The stadium was designed by the world-famous Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron. The same building houses a shopping centre, restaurants, seminar rooms and various service companies.
St. Jakob-Park is the home ground of FC Basel 1893 – one of the most successful clubs in Switzerland: the FC Basel women’s team plays in Switzerland’s top league, the AXA Women’s Super League. And the FC Basel men’s team has qualified for the UEFA Champions League more often than any other Swiss club and has already won 20 Swiss championship titles.
The St. Jakob-Park stadium is located on the south-eastern edge of the city of Basel, with excellent connections to public transport (tram and bus), and is easily accessible from the north (Germany and France) and south (Switzerland) by private vehicles (directly at the motorway exit with its own multi-storey car park). Travelling by public transport is recommended.
